They are a South Korean indie duo that debuted on March 16, 2022, affiliated with the indie label Crepe Sound.

The group's name contains the meaning of 'singing with melody and rhythm the imperfect emotions of youth,' and indeed, the members' stage names are 'Choi Seon-yul' and 'Choi Un-yul.' While both participate in the composition and arrangements, vocalist Choi Un-yul and Choi Ju-young focus more on creating the story, hence the stage name 'Un-yul,' while producer member Choi Seon-yul and Choi In-cheol focus more on the overall flow of the music, hence the stage name 'Seon-yul.'

If I had to sum up Eumyul's musical style in one word, it would be youth. Their debut song, "The Courage of Gentleness," was a city-pop genre that initially captivated many city-pop fans. However, starting with "A Song Left Behind in a Silly Youth," they attempted a new genre that blended rock with K-pop instead of urban pop. Instead of a laid-back, retro vibe, they won the hearts of fans not only in Korea but also in Japan with their refreshing, catchy melodies. They say they haven't settled on a perfect formula yet and are always experimenting to find their own genre. While "The Courage of Gentleness" was about first love in "That Child Confessed," "A Song Left Behind in a Silly Youth" is about growing up.
